I had my laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (LAVH and BSO) on June 11, 2003 by my local Planned Parenthood surgeon. I got my surgery 80% covered by my insurance because I delayed starting T and was diagnosed with endometriosis a couple months before. Getting a hysterectomy is the only way to get the "M" on my Florida birth certificate, and once I can change my birth certificate to male, insurance will most likely pay for "hypogonadism," under which most endocrinologists will bill office visits and testosterone prescriptions.
